Tree Sale

leaves-g6af3bfbec_1920 - CopyAdd a burst of fall color to your yard by purchasing a shade tree during the City of Woodbury’s fall tree sale. Tree pick-up is Saturday, Oct. 16, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Public Works, 2301 Tower Drive.

The cost is $114.62-$176.76 per tree, including tax.

Shade trees provide many benefits including potentially reduce heating and cooling costs, improving air quality by converting greenhouse gases into oxygen and creating habitats for animals.

Seven species of trees will be available for purchase including crabapple, St. Croix elm, autumn gold ginkgo, hackberry, boulevard linen, maple and white oak. Trees must be planted on private property in Woodbury; planting in the boulevard, utility or other easements is prohibited. Trees not picked up that day will be forfeited to the city and will be planted in a city park.

Most trees will come in a No. 10 container, which is approximately 12 inches in diameter and weighs 35 to 50 pounds. All trees are approximately 5 to 7 feet tall and 1-inch caliper. For pick-up, please drive a vehicle that will accommodate this size container and tree.

Call before you dig
Under state law, if you are planning to do any work on your property that involves excavation more than 6 inches deep, you need to contact the Gopher State One Call system locate at 651-454-0002, 48 hours before you plan to dig. There is no fee for this service.
